Help is gone ?

Postby Johan Söderberg » Tue Oct 01, 2024 9:25 am

I was trying to find a help-post about how to fade a sub vith OSC commands (from an elgato streamdeck+)
But when I push "help" in LXConsole I only get blank pages under "Help topics".
Have I misplaced something?

Below is the streamdeck+ toglebutton that I hope to get working. It alternately fades up or down in a preset time.
I guess it can be done with Midi as well but that seems trickier...

Try the latest build, Version 6.6.3 (19701.1), and see if the help works better.

As long as you have the OSC connection information (IP/Port) set and OSC input enabled, you should be able to detect OSC messages and match them to actions. Choose View->Setup and select the OSC tab. Click the detect button. Send OSC from the controller to LXConsole. You should see the message being sent in the text field by the detect button. If so, click the + button. Click in the "Action Command" column for the new OSC action. Enter "FADER-1" for that OSC message to control fader one.

If you want to setup the controller instead of mapping an action, set the OSC address of the control to /fader.lxconsole/1/level.

Yes that worked, Version 6.6.3 (19701.1) had correct helpfiles.
Also your advices on OSC commands work just fine.
- Thank you Claude.

Now my remaining issues are only with Elgato Streamdeck+ and it´s various Midi and OSC settings.
I´ll read some manuals and do some trial end error to figure out when to use Midi and when OSC is to be preferred.
- It´s a very useful little thing! But it takes some getting to knowing before it can be optimized for my intended use.
I'll share a layout setting and LXC file whenever I´m ready fiddling about...
